Before and After Photo Descriptions of Treatment Options

Openbite Before Openbite After

Open Bite

This patient was a mouth breather which pushed her upper and lower teeth inward, creating a narrowing of the upper and lower arches.  We placed braces on her as an adult.  She wore braces for 23 months.  She is now able to bite the lettuce from a sandwich.

Underbite Before Underbite Before

Underbite

Patient’s lower jaw continued to grow into his late teen/early adult years.  Dr. Redmond implemented orthodontic treatment to align the teeth so surgical correction could be performed to put the upper and lower jaws in proper position.  Patient was finished with the corrective surgery and  braces within 25 months.

Spacing After Spacing Before

Spacing

This patient had some spacing in her upper arch. She wore braces for 18 months and has a beautiful smile.

Overbite Before Overbite After

Overbite

Patient’s lower teeth were touching the roof of her mouth when she would bite down.  Using directed orthodontic force and rubberbands to correct her bite relationship, an ideal esthetic result was achieved i n 20 months.

Invisalign NonBraces Before Invisalign NonBraces After

Invisalign or Non-Braces

This patient opted to use Invisalign  to achieve a straight smile.  She was diligent about wearing her Invisalign trays and finished treatment within 18 months.

Missing Lateral Before Missing Lateral After

Missing Lateral Incisors

This patient was congenitally missing a permanent lateral incisor.  He started treatment at age 14.  To create and maintain the image of no missing  tooth during treatment , Dr. Redmond placed a prosthetic tooth that was identical to the same tooth on the opposite side.  When the patient completed treatment at 25 months, Dr. Redmond bonded the prosthetic tooth to the arch.  This will stay in place until the patient is ready for a dental implant.

Impacted Cuspid Before Impacted Cuspid After

Impacted Cuspid

After reviewing this patient’s panorex xray, Dr. Redmond discovered a tooth that was hidden and had not erupted normally.  Because of the position of the impacted cuspid, an oral surgeon was able to remove a small amount of gum tissue to expose the tooth which allowed it to erupt naturally.
